The long 3 year saga of Casey Anthony accused of murder of her 2 year old daughter Caylee ended today with a verdict of not guilty of murder.
The seven woman, five-man jury acquitted Casey Anthony during a trial that stretched more than six weeks and which included allegations of sexual abuse against Anthony’s father George and brother Lee and various theories of what happened to the 2 year old Caylee.
Caylee was last seen on June 16, 2008 but not reported missing until July 15, 2008 by Casey Anthony’s mother Cindy demanded to know where her granddaughter was after not being seen for 31 days.
Caylee’s skeletal remains were discovered December 11, 2008 by Orange County, Florida meter reader Roy Kronk in a swampy forested area less than a mile from the Anthony home.
The sentencing phase will begin in 48 hours.
